The DAAD has selected 26 students and researchers in India and Germany as Young Ambassadors for the academic session 2017-18. Young Ambassadors are essentially those who have either studied, done research in Germany or completed an internship with a German firm and are keen to promote Germany as a destination for higher education.
The Young Ambassadors kick-off meet took place in New Delhi from 24 – 26 August 2017. During the 3-day workshop conducted by DAAD, young ambassadors worked together to understand their roles and to identify goals and strategies for promoting Germany. They also got the opportunity to participate in an interactive session with Stephan Lanzinger, Head of Science and Technology Section at the German Embassy New Delhi. A speed-networking session was organized for the ambassadors to network with the consortium members of German House for Innovation and Research (DWIH). Together they will all be working voluntarily to share their experiences with other Indian students who wish to study and/or research in Germany.
