The workshop “Internationalisation of Higher Education: Structures of International offices and imparting internationalisation at home” aimed to provide a learning and discussion platform to the representatives of international offices of different institutions from India and the region.
The online meet was lined up with presentations, talks and group discussions and took place in two parts.
– Session one focussed on the establishment of international offices targeting higher education institutions who are currently setting up the institutional structures for internationalisation.
– Session two addressed incoming student mobility. Good practice on how to deal with international students on the campus as well as instruments for attracting international students and faculty for short stays like international summer schools or internships programs was presented through different panel discussions with speakers from Germany and India with a focus on DAAD funding programmes.
The event was attended by more than 50 participants representing more than 20 academic institutions, not just from India but also from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The DAAD is organising an online workshop on 24 and 25 November 2021 for administrators/managers/staff of international offices of universities and higher education institutions from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
This capacity development workshop will take place in two parts and shall address the setting up of structures of International Offices (part one) and projects and activities context of incoming students/faculty (part two).
The workshop offers the participants a platform for exchanging inputs, sharing experiences and discussion. Good practices on how to deal with international students on the campus as well as instruments for attracting international students and faculty for short stays like international summer schools or internships programs will also be presented with a focus on DAAD funding programs.
The workshop is a part of the programme “Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies” (DIES) jointly coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK).
The event is open for a limited number of participants. You are welcome to apply for either one or both the days. Selected individuals will receive invitations to participate ahead of the event.
