After a productive meeting with the director of Indian Institute of Madras, Prof. Dr. V Kamakoti, Dr. Lasch, Director DAAD Regional Office and DWIH New Delhi also interacted with the Global Engagements Office of IITM to discuss more arenas of cooperation. Exploring the Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem for science-based startups was another focus of the trip that included a tour of the IIT Research Park and Incubation Cell.
Promoting the German Research landscape in India and strengthening ties between the Indian and German scientific communities through sustainable collaboration remains central to the DAAD and DWIH in the region. In this context, a meeting with the director of CSIR-SERC also took place.
The tour ended with a courtesy dinner hosted by Michaela Küchler, Consul General at the German Consulate General in Chennai.
