DAAD Regional Office New Delhi received a group of students from the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences (Wolfenbüttel) on 10 December 2018. Together with Prof. Dr. Ludger Kolhoff, the bachelor students of the course Social Management are on a 7-day excursion through India. Their visit also includes stopovers at the German Embassy in New Delhi and other social institutions together with some cultural highlights.
The DAAD New Delhi organised a two-day DIES seminar on the topic “Internationalisation: Strategies, Implementation and Structures. Chances and Challenges for Indian Universities” on 29th – 30th November 2018.

The first conference of the German Institutional Partnership (GIP) between the German Seminar of Freiburg’s Albert-Ludwigs-Universität, Centre of German Studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Department of Germanic and Romance Studies of University of Delhi and Department of German of Mumbai University set itself a broad target of exploring and expanding the horizons of Literary and Cultural Studies.
Indian student numbers in Germany continue to be on the rise. The number of Indian students in Germany has almost doubled in the last five years. The German Ambassador to India, Dr Martin Ney, welcomed this development: "The fact that more and more Indians are deciding to study in Germany is a sign of confidence in our universities. This positive trend also shows that Indo-German relations are flourishing."
With this edition of the Indo-German Dialogue the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi aims to address multifaceted aspects of the academia and industry relationship and discuss ways to bridge the existing gaps.
The DAAD has selected 30 students, researchers and professionals as Young Ambassadors for 2018-19. DAAD Young Ambassadors are essentially young people who have either studied, done research in Germany and are keen to promote Germany as a destination for higher education. The Young Ambassadors 2018 kick-off meet will take place in New Delhi from 23 – 25 August 2018.
