The DAAD and National Science Foundation (NSF) Sri Lanka have launched a new joint mobility program. Heike Mock, Director the DAAD office in New Delhi that also is responsible for Sri Lanka in addition to India, outlines the details of this programme in this interview.

Dr. Nusrat Jahan Imu, senior lecturer from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Daffodil International University received a DAAD Material Resource Grant. Dr. Imu has been a DAAD scholar at the TH Köln.
DAAD in cooperation with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and University Grants Commission (UGC) invites applications for Project-based Personnel Exchange Programme. Indian partners are welcome to apply to DST/UGC and German partners to DAAD.
Dr. Ram Kulkarni, Assistant Professor at Symbiosis School of Biological Sciences, Symbiosis International University, received a DAAD Material Resources Grant. Dr. Kulkarni has been a DAAD research scholar in Jena, Germany.
German Centre for Research and Innovation - DWIH New Delhi will finance the Berlin trip for the selected nomination from India to participate in the Falling Walls Venture on 8 November 2018. Falling Walls Venture showcases the most promising research based start- ups from all over the globe.
To further strengthen cooperation on scientific and academic research between Germany and Sri Lanka, the DAAD and the NSF have launched a new Joint Mobility Program for Project-Related Personal Exchange.
In order to explore the possibilities of cooperation and a university partnership, Prof. Dr. med. Ralf Weigel (Peace Springer Endowed Professorship for Global Child Health) and Dr. Marzellus Hofmann (Vice Dean for Teaching at the Faculty of Health) from the University of Witten / Herdecke (UW / H) visited the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) along with DAAD officials on a fact-finding mission.
DAAD Research Ambassador Dr. Arvind A. Natu (Professor of Chemistry at IISER Pune) was awarded with the prestigious “Bundesverdienstkreuz”, Germany’s Cross of the Order of Merit by the Consul General of Germany in Mumbai, Dr. Jürgen Morhard.
