University professors and scientists from German and Indian universities and those in permanent employment at independent research institutes are eligible to apply for 2 years of funding for collaborative research projects between Indian and German research groups. Young researchers get an opportunity to gain international research experience and undergo further training at an international level. The bilateral research cooperation can be used as a starting point for future cooperation.

Applications need to be submitted simultaneously by Indian and German partners to DST and DAAD respectively.

The German research groups must apply online via the DAAD portal.
Before the submission of the application documents, applicants from German research groups are strongly recommended to visit the DAAD website: www.daad.de/go/pf57739566 for further information on the DAAD call for applications (programme name in German: Programm des Projektbezogenen Personenaustauschs). German applicants should contact the DAAD directly for advice and assistance on the specific application procedure. Applications by the German PI will only be accepted if the DAAD format provided on the DAAD website is used.
