Higher Education Policy Information Visit
In March 2025 a German high level delegation consisting of 20 Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Chancellors, Rectors and other functionaries of German universities visited and interacted with their counterparts at the IIT Hyderabad, IIIT Hyderabad, University of Hyderabad, CSIR labs in Hyderabad, IIT Delhi and Ashoka University.
The German Consulate in Chennai received the delegation in Hyderabad, while a meeting with German stakeholders was organised at the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan in New Delhi.
The focus of the visit was familiarisation with the academic system in India and establishing new university collaborations, strengthen Indo-German research collaboration networks, and exploring opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in higher education. Dr Kai Sicks, Secretary General of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) led the delegation with Dr Katja Lasch, Director, DAAD & DWIH New Delhi.
