DAAD Sri Lanka successfully conducts Study in Germany Day!

DAAD Sri Lanka kickstarted the event with opening remarks, introducing the DAAD and its presence in the world to the audience. Stefan Winkler, Director of Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka delivered a few words explaining the importance of learning the German language for higher studies, various cultural aspects of Germany and the Goethe-Institut’s role as the German cultural centre in Sri Lanka.
Followed by an insightful presentation and interactive Q&A portion by DAAD Sri Lanka, DAAD Research Ambassador Dr. Ishanka Karunarathne, who is also a DAAD alumna, shared her insights about universities, research in Germany and her overall Germany experience. DAAD Young Ambassador Vishwa De Silva, who is currently a Bachelor student at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, joined the event online from Germany to share his experience of studying in Germany.
In order to provide an understanding of other opportunities in Germany, Pinsari Jayasundara, Project Coordinator for Project Preintegration and Transition Management delivered an insightful presentation about vocational training/education and job migration opportunities in Germany, which was then complemented by the Goethe-Institut interns by doing a fun quiz with the audience about Germany and German language.
Around 75 participants joined this event and gained a comprehensive idea about their study opportunities in Germany. DAAD Sri Lanka will continue to have events such as these in order to provide guidance and support for potential students.
