Call for applications: NSF-DAAD Scheme for Project-Related Personnel Exchange (PPP) - 2025
The Joint Mobility Program aims to promote bilateral scientific cooperation in both countries by creating sustained networks between various Sri Lankan and German teams formed through individual research exchanges. DAAD provides funding for mobility to members of the German research group and their stays at the Sri Lankan partner institution. Due to factors beyond institutional control, NSF is not in a position to provide funds for mobility and hospitality for the Sri Lankan research group for stays in Germany. However, this is an opportunity for Sri Lankan researchers who seek collaborative work with German researchers within Sri Lanka. NSF encourages Sri Lankan researchers to submit proposals in partnership with industry and explore the potential to secure funding from the industry for the said purpose.
An awareness programme regarding the same was conducted on 9 October 2025 for university academics, researchers, industry personnel and other government representatives at the Auditorium of the National Science Foundations, Sri Lanka.

It commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Chairman and Dr. J.G. Shantha Siri, Additional Director of the National Science Foundation, followed by remarks made by Shikha Sinha, Senior Advisor – International Cooperation, DAAD Regional Office New Delhi, India.
The session by DAAD Sri Lanka also expounded on the opportunities for Sri Lankan students and researchers followed by an interactive Q&A Session. More than 50 participants took part in this event.
A sincere thank-you goes out to Dr. Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director General of NSF for joining the event and also to Thilinakumari Kandanamulla, Senior Scientific Officer, International Affairs Division of NSF for coordinating and organising this event.
The call for applications is out now.
Deadline for submission of applications: 28 November 2025
