Alumni for SDG: Web Talk Series

The Alumni for SDG is a web talk series that will showcase important and relevant topics of the Sustainable Development Goals. The web talks will be presented by DAAD alumni from the region – India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

In a way to show their commitment towards solving global challenges in the fields of SDGs, DAAD alumni will showcase relevant research work through this event. Working towards finding solutions to global challenges is their way to give back to society. By being bridge builders between India and Germany, they strengthen the network of subjects focussed on the SDGs that will be addressed in this series.

Panel 1

SDG Monitoring & Reporting; and SDG 5 – Gender Equality

The series kickstarts with a discourse on monitoring and reporting on SDG work and a panel discussion on gender equality in various fields

Learn more about:
– The scope and importance of SDG reporting and monitoring in the German as well as South-Asian context
– A statistical analysis in the gender gap in education and employment
– Gender equality in university, academia, and in the digital space

 

Panel 2

SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation

This panel will focus on aspects of water usage and security in the urban context. Moreover, it will assess the use of water from an agricultural point of view.

– Efficiency in use of recycled water and rejuvenation of water bodies

Panel 3

SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities

This web talk will address aspects of green infrastructure and sustainable mobility in urban spaces. This panel will also investigate the use of power grids for energy consumption and their efficiency.
